About Nettkompass
Nettkompass started with a simple observation: parents want to protect their children online, but often don’t know where to begin.
I’ve been speaking at technology conferences since 2010, but in 2023 I started delivering a dedicated talk on children’s online safety — at conferences, schools, and public institutions across Norway. This talk is offered free for schools and public organisations. After every talk, parents come up and say the same thing: “That was the hardest but most important talk today. But what do I do now when I get home?”
Nettkompass is the answer to that question.

Who’s behind it
Nettkompass is created by Niall Merrigan, a technologist based in the Stavanger region with a background in information security. The content is developed in collaboration with professionals and based on years of experience from talks and feedback from parents and teachers.
Free and open
