What is CapCut?
CapCut is a video-editing service for cutting clips, adding text, music, captions, effects, and filters, and exporting finished media. Depending on region, device, account, and version, it may also provide templates, community interactions, cloud storage, and AI-assisted tools. What are the real risks?

Settings to check
- Review project visibility: Open the project’s sharing or publishing screen, and check whether it will remain on the device, sync to cloud storage, become a template, or be shared elsewhere. Options vary by region and version. [1] [3]
- Restrict app permissions: Open the device’s app settings → CapCut → Permissions, and allow only the photos, camera, microphone, and location access needed for current projects. [2]
- Review subscriptions: Open the device store’s Subscriptions or CapCut’s plan page, and check the plan, renewal date, and cancellation route. [1] [3]
- Review AI inputs before use: Check whether a tool uploads or analyses faces, voices, video, text prompts, or generated outputs before applying it. [2]
